About Us

Members of the Railway Industry AssociationAtlas Rail are specialist designers and manufacturers of low visual impact overhead power and lighting solutions for transport systems.

With a combined experience of over 100 years in the industry we utilise the latest design techniques to produce higher quality products. Our innovative use of newer materials, such as composites, high-strength: weight and corrosion resistant alloys. This allows us to deliver solutions that are not only lighter and smaller but also have an increased life span, helping to reduce the total-life cost of a project.

We ensure that our products are easy and quick to install in the demanding physical environment often encountered in overhead power systems. Something that sets us apart from many other companies.

Utilising solid modelling and finite element analysis in our design process enables us to compress the time scale from request to supply and ensure we get it right first time. The solid modelling techniques and finite element analysis means that it is not always necessary to carry out extensive physical testing on the components, making production more energy efficient.

We have built up a comprehensive portfolio of standard components, but are also able to design and manufacture specialised components to meet particular requirements.

We are members of the Railway Industry Association, the Trade Association for UK-based suppliers of equipment and services to the world-wide industry.

Smart Funding Innovation Award WinnerAtlas Rail are also Link Up approved suppliers to the UK rail operator Network Rail.

In 2002 we won a DTI Smart Award for innovative design in light rail systems and components.
